Crispy fried “popiahs” and tasty “karipaps” are just a few of the snacks that we serve our customers during our public workshop tea break. ATCEN has our very own unique relationship with our tea break service provider. She is a lady with few words but filled with abundant smiles and laughter. A very accommodating lady and understands the importance of being on time. She makes the effort to continuously provide us with variety to keep our taste buds interested and calls to make sure the need is met. To our Kakak, terima kasih and I salute you for being so supportive. |

I recently visited the hair salon located just below our office. During my visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendliness of the staff in serving their customers. As it was my first time, the owner of the salon asked me my name, which she used to address me each time she spoke to me. This enhanced the relaxed atmosphere as the owner spoke to me as though I were an old friend even though I was a first time customer. As other customers came in I also noticed that she addressed each and every one of them by name, asking how their families or children were (she even remembered their names!). To the owner, I salute you for your attentiveness and warm approach in making your customers feel welcome. |

It may not be your own business when you work for people, but when we work for ourselves we try our best to make things happen. My friend Karen often shares with me some of her past experiences and the importance of being healthy, as she wanted me to be healthy. She always took the effort to introduce suitable health products to my family and I. More importantly, she was sincerely concerned about us and interested in my well being. Because of her persistency, I finally decided to purchase health products from her. I did it not because she was a good sales person, neither was it because I wanted to get rid of her. I bought from her because she cared. For this I salute you Karen for being a concerned friend. |

The 1 cent coin is not a favorite denomination in every shopper’s wallet. Ironically, it has been making a comeback in hypermarkets and supermarkets lately. This salute goes out to the Jusco Store for their generosity in providing ‘free’ 1 cent coins at their supermarket check-out cashiers. Jusco has proved that it doesn’t take much ‘cents’ to delight your customers. |

I recently had to undergo dental surgery. Dreading it like most people, it was a surprisingly pleasant experience thanks to the dedication and effort of the people there. A day prior to the surgery, a representative from the dentist called to remind me of the appointment. This struck me as extremely efficient service. Upon arrival the next day, I was greeted warmly and offered a drink. While sitting in the waiting room, the latest magazines were laid out for me to read and I was able to watch ASTRO on the television. In the surgery theatre itself, a television was propped at an angle that enabled patients to be able to watch television while being treated. Not only that, soothing music was softly playing in the background. The dentist himself was very patient, guiding me and speaking to me throughout the procedure. Before I knew it, it was over! To my dentist, I salute you for going to such lengths of putting your patients at ease. |

Recently, ATCEN organized a series of team building workshops at Strawberry Park in Cameron Highlands. I was impressed by the excellent level of customer service and hospitality of the resort staff. Although the ATCEN team are regulars to the resort every weekend, the service provided has been consistent. To Linda of the front desk and Alex of the maintenance department, I would like to salute this newly-wed couple for your dedication at work and continuous effort in delighting customers. |

The choices are maddening when shopping for baby products. The market has excessive selections. I had an interesting experience whilst shopping for a baby walker/ trainer. This particular excursion brought me to Jaya Jusco in Bandar Utama since I was told they had the best selections of all the Jusco’s in town. Sure enough, being new to the parenting game I was greeted with no less than 10 different selections. The sales person sensing my confusion educated me on what to look for in a walker which I was eternally grateful for but what created that delighting experience for me was she took it upon herself to explain all the differences in features of each and every walker on display.
To Ina, God bless you and Azelea loves her walker! |

Car sales people are renowned for their phoniness and lack of service ability. After a whole day of horrible encounters with car sales dimwits, this one particular lady from the Perodua dealership in Puchong made the difference. She was sincere, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. Her professionalism and dedication to the sales profession is noticeable from her apologetic voicemail message to the pleasantness of her as a person when we met. She was able to provide much needed information and service which was lacking in the 6 other sales people we encountered. She is an example of a spectacular individual.
If the stream of customers coming in asking for you while the other sales people were merely sitting around is any indication, you are doing a magnificent job Dorothea. May the monthly sales awards keep coming!

There are many who work for the hospitality industry, however not many are people orientated or as customer focused as one I met a few months back in Park Royal Hotel. As a marketing executive, she represents what marketing personnel should be; a good listener, solution focused, friendly and polite. To Li Kheng, you are definitely someone who will go far in the hospitality industry. Keep up the good work. |

ATCEN has an extremely good relationship with “Finger’s” restaurant located under our office. Finger’s provides good fusion food and a cozy environment that enables us to enjoy our meals each time we visit. Due to its excellent service, we have decided to engage their services for our public workshop participants lunch meals. Shaimala, the owner of the restaurant with her personalized services has definitely exceeded our expectations. Her passion and creativity has ensured variety and special creations to serve our clients better. I salute her for “differentiating our services” to our clients. |

We recently visited one of the charity homes in Klang Valley that housed both children and senior citizens. To our amazement, we were warmly welcomed by the residents of the homes and given an opportunity to better understand their living conditions and requirements. The professionalism of the management team and concern showered on the residents were obvious. Their passion to help and care for both the young and old is something that we can learn. The simplicity of how they exceed their “customer delight” with no expectation in return is why I shout out my salute to the Management Team of Rumah Charis. On behalf of the community, we thank you for your efforts. |

My salute goes to the car wash crew I have been patronizing weekly for the past 4 years, located under a shady tree adjacent to 2 gas stations in the Bandar Menjalara area. Despite being in a non-glamorous job, their enthusiasm in ensuring customer satisfaction and quality of work deserves my compliment. |
