Endorsement is a part of our advancing self-establishment as a brand. Product endorsement comes as an individual gets more and more well-known, in this sense the idea of endorsing oneself is basically allowing a product to be closely associated with our image; indirectly it is selling our self as part of the brand.
Not many of us understand why a product would endorse celebrities and public figures as their spokesperson or ambassador. For their understanding because one person is famous, it is cool to have their voices or faces around the product. Yes, however that’s not as far as it goes. One has to be clever to choose their product endorsement because as you establish yourself well, commercial merchandisers will soon be chasing your tail wanting a piece of you.

Take example famous local singer Mawi and Maggie Mee endorsement; the relevance between Mawi as the great talented singer is totally irrelevant if one was to relate it with the product Maggie Mee. Another example will be the whole Whopper Burger Campaign by Paris Hilton, in relation to what makes her famous; it is almost irrelevant for us to be seeing a size 0 famous heir in bikini walloping a burger that’s almost the size of her face.
So before even agreeing and signing your face or voice off for that endorsement deal, we should take the smart step to see if it will be relevant to what makes us worth the endorsement. A clever endorsement would be something like Tiger Woods for Nike Golf; you can immediately relate the two very closely and by signing off for Nike Golf, Woods actually affirms his image even more with the word golf.
Endorsement is significantly important to establish your brand further, so the idea of accepting the endorsement is to make sure that it has a relevant connection with the image you are trying to set and should allow you to affirm YOU to become an even stronger brand.
