The world is facing huge environmental and social challenges, from protecting human rights to minimizing the harmful effects of climate change. ATCEN One – the Corporate Responsibility arm of the ATCEN Group works to make changes to minimize negative impacts on people and the environment and to maximize its contribution to sustainable societies.

Corporate responsibility has various definitions. However, broadly speaking it covers the ways in which organizations manage their core business to add social, environmental and economic value in order to produce a positive, sustainable impact for both society and for the business itself.

Our values of Enthusiasm, Creativity, Quality and Relationship mean a lot to us. As a team, we take it as our responsibility to ensure that our values are internalized in all our endeavors. Our value of Relationship is especially close to our hearts.

The people of ATCEN function as a close-knit family. We care about each other and have built a special bond. Our care is not only within us but extends to the community. We believe in doing what we can to give back to the society. With this, the ATCEN ONE program was launched.

One Vision, One Partnership, One Gift

ATCEN ONE is a Vision
As a civic conscious corporate citizen of Malaysia; it is our VISION to contribute back to the community.

ATCEN ONE is a Partnership
This program involves two parties coming together as PARTNERS to contribute towards a single VISION.

ATCEN ONE is a
Gift
Two partners agreeing in unison to present a GIFT to the less fortunate. ATCEN One is a win for the Client, a win for ATCEN and ultimately a win for the Community.

ATCEN One isn’t the average CR outfit. It’s a lot more than fund-raising, home visiting and grocery buying. ATCEN One is different in that it places focus on various areas namely:

Children of the World

1. We provide FREE training to prepare fresh graduates for the working world.

The article concerns efforts of Ernie Chen Founder & Group CEO of The ATCEN Group in having already startezd The ATCEN Apprenticeship Leadership for Learning Program. This is an internship program with a difference since it inculcates leadership skills and each intern is guaranteed a salaried job upon completion of attachment. There is also an internship program for children in shelters.

There has been a lot of talk about the awful standard of fresh graduates. Rather than reacting to the problem, Ernie Chen is taking a proactive stance by offering a solution in changing the mindset and commitment level of these young people through the ATCEN Apprenticeship Leadership for Learning Program.

The article will create awareness among various companies, alerting them to the importance of the task at hand which can be done without much duress. It just takes commitment and dedication and every company that does its bit is a catalyst to a positive change in the standard of a young workforce.

Petaling Jaya

The ATCEN team had the opportunity to add humility to their learnings as they travel the ATCEN journey.  The second charity visit of 2007 saw the participation of 15 team members making visits to two deserving homes, Rumah Amal Kanak-Kanak (or Praise Emmanuel Children's Home) and Persatuan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Kampung Medan.

Praise Emmanuel Children's Home started in January 2003 with 2 children and today they provide shelter to 30 resident children comprising of children aged from 3 - 19 years. The home committed to attempt and help abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected and orphaned children helping them overcome their troubled past to achieve meaningful and productive lives.  It can be seen that efforts are made to provide them with a balanced diet, proper clothing, and regular medical checkups for their physical well being and proper education as well as spiritual guidance.

Meanwhile, Persatuan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Kampung Medan is located in Taman Sri Medan, Petaling Jaya. Running the home with her own resources, Hajah Kamariah was an orphan herself and was determined to set up such a shelter since she was a child.  Her well-intentions came through when she opened up her own home in Taman Sri Medan to orphans and also single mothers. Since then, this home has welcomed more than 80 children and 60 single mothers.

Although checks and supermarket vouchers were presented to both the homes, what made the visit more memorable was the ATCEN team together with the children of the homes danced with choreography from ‘High School Musical’ which proved to be the highlight of all the activities.  The delight and expressions of joy of the residents and children from both homes was worth its weight in gold and it further emphasized how important the ATCEN ONE program is to the community and the company.
